Aranwë Haldalókë, known for reasons he keeps to himself as the "Nightshade Dragon", is a dark-haired, grey-eyed figure rarely seen outside his armour. He first arrived at the Board a long time ago and has consistently remained a loner since, preferring just the company of a small, select circle of Boardies. Something of a jack of all trades, he occasionally demonstrates a taste for magic, but his trademark suit of armour and advanced fightercraft wouldn't disgrace one of JJ's combat squadrons.

An unashamed mercenary, he originally joined the Board both to explore their world and because they paid well...and have presumably kept paying, down the years. While wary of someone supposedly only loyal to the highest bidder, FLEET have adopted a "by any means available..." policy on the subject, and their files on him include evidence that suggests more ties of friendship and mutual respect than he'd be willing to admit to.

Aranwë's first claim to fame, way back in the mists of Board history, was work on the creation of the first war threads. An expert in two-handed, close-quarters fighting, he proved invaluable in their use as training aids. With the later growth in recruitment, he moved away from his training role to become somewhat aloof. When the modern days of Big Science arrived, when most of the Board was launched to orbit and the Funky Horror built, Aranwë built himself a small, fast ship and vanished for a time. When he was asked where was he going, he simply answered "I want to see the stars".

Returning from his sabbatical several months later, Aranwe appeared to have undergone a change in attitude. He has now moved to an active role in the conflict, perferring to get his proverbial hands dirty - and the numerous Board groundpounders welcomed him with open arms. His Power Suit is in reality full body armour, very light and strong, designed to provide life support and protection in almost every situation. Equipped with a plethora of monitoring systems, along with reactive armour modules, shield generators, and radiation screens, it was the basis for later power armour designs in the marines. Now, it is regularly seen either leading or alongside them in dozens of hostile environments.
