Eochaid is a member of the third race created by God, the Creator; The Caretakers. Set up as the ancient pagan gods of man, it was their duty to guide and teach mankind as the Lord traveled among the stars seeding other planets with life. Unfortunately the majority of these Caretakers, proving themselves no less fallible than angels and man, fell into corruption and chaos, coming to believe that their roles as gods was absolute. With the return of the Creator many peacefully rejoined or left the Earth in peace. Those who did not often found their followers as the targets of terrible persecutions and pogroms. Despite Eochaid’s warnings, the Tuatha De Danann proved no better. Fortunately he was able to make a deal with the Children of Mil (Man), and took his people into the legendary Otherworld. Afterwards he traveled the length and breadth of the multiverse, aiding and joining in battle with those involved in worthy and honorable causes, often attaining high rank, especially in the nations of the Manticore Federation, United Terran Colonies, Interstellar Alliance, and Minbari Federation. There the Dagda and his people would have remained if not for the terrible first battle between the Board and the Adversary. Unknown to either side, the entrance of the Devil upon the world of men rang like a thunderclap through the Otherworld, bringing the Old Folk of Ireland’s attention back to it.

Eochaid was originally the Irish Deity of Magic, Weather, and their original deity of Knowledge, although his son Ogham has also taken up that banner. He believes devoutly in his role as a teacher and protector of man. With the Adversary’s return he decided that it was time to take up this role once more, and accepts the fact that he is no longer worshiped as a god by mankind. With this in mind he approached the Board.

Within a few months Eochaid’s production facilities at Finean’s Tor became the major supplier of weapons and ships to the Board, and one of many to the emergent military arm of the Board... FLEET. While not technically a true member of FLEET, Eochaid has discovered a true affinity for what others call Big Science, and melding it with the Olde Magicks to create modern weapons capable of taking down demons. He has also proven himself to be a very dangerous enemy to those who oppose the Board, often in the front lines of raids against Hell as well as attacks from extrasolar enemies. Against these latter he has also built and deployed an innovative Planetary Defense Network for the Earth linked to control facilities in FLEET HQ on the Funky Horror and at Finean’s Tor in southern Ireland. Plans are also being worked on for a third control station being emplaced at the Nemo Research Base and Shangri-La, although these plans have yet to be brought before the Board’s High Command.

An exceptional swordsman and martial artist, "Dag" prefers to use his personal weapons in combat rather than the vast quantity of battle magic he knows. Because of his extensive travels among the multiverse he is also an accomplished military commander and soldier, possessed of a sarcastic, self-deprecating and sardonic wit that gladdens the hearts of those around him. The old God believes strongly in the cause of the Board, and is willing to do anything to defend his friends, the Roomies, the World, and, of course, Ireland. He rages at the Enemy for the state of his beloved homeland, seeing the Dark Lord's hand in the political and religious strife that has divided it.

Whenever on-Station, Dagda can be found discussing suppliers and logistics with Aurora and other members of the Board's supply sections - no fighting general ever has enough men or equipment.
